We did however find 21 campgrounds within 25 miles of Santa Clara. You can also find a list of cities with campgrounds or RV Parks near Santa Clara in the left hand column. You got slides? Good luck. This park was built before slides and now they have marked out narrow sites with white lines that you are expected to stay between.
The fire department requires some magic distance away from the 30 amp electric socket. After getting read the riot act, very nicely, I might add, when checking in, we still ended up in a fierce argument with her when she found we were too much over the line. After I threatened to check every RV in the park to make sure they were in the lines, she gave us a few inches of leeway. She has a truly lousy job. Thousand Trails should be ashamed of themselves. RV's with slides should not be allowed and at 42', our MH leaves our Jeep out in the road, but somehow that's ok.
You also park opposite your neighbor. Horrible setup. We test the water. Decent tap water ppm and fairly soft. Thousand Trails is two for two with us so far - two losers. Don't come here. Santa Cruz is nothing anyway. The boardwalk is seedy. The cable TV works. Wi-Fi, not so much. Otherwise, you'll tear your air conditioner s off the roof, have to unhook, backup, reverse, and never arrive.
The location in Scotts Valley is great. Santa Cruz is but minutes away and every convenience known to man is nearby with a ten percent sales tax. The RV park packs you in like sardines sans olive oil. Your tow car will not fit on your site and they run out of overflow parking around five p. They don't seem to object to us parking our tow car in the road. It does make it other people's problem however.
There are lots of long-timers with their children who are easy to run over if you are not diligent. This is most likely a corollary of the housing expense in the area. The sites are all amp, full hookup. However, the water pressure can drop to nothing as will the electrical voltage. Our solution for the former was to fill our water tank all day - there is a little water pressure - and run our water pump for showers and cooking.
The former problem was solved by running our generator. On the other hand, the pool looks nice and the hot tub hot. We would not return unless we had to for family reasons. This park is located within a residential setting. Very low tree clearance at the entrance and had to go in the exit for additional clearance. Everything is tight in this park. We were instructed to keep the entire RV including slides within the white lines We were told that the fire marshall would ask us to move our RV if we didn't stay in the lines.
No one was within the lines. Hard to navigate our 32' fifth wheel into our site but just fit. Not enough room for our truck and hung over into the street, which makes it challenging for others to navigate. Lots of permanent folks with lots of kids loose in the park. We were ok but just watch when driving around. Pool, spa, laundry and bathrooms were in good shape and in working order.
Good location for exploring Santa Cruz, Pacifica to Carmel but very expensive! Might stay here again if we didn't have other options. Very nice people. This park is all gravel with very narrow sites. I actually thought it was a campground until i got here. Most of the campers here are permanently set up on a site with storage buildings. This place is somewhat quite, clean, and friendly.
I was barely able to fit my 35 foot rv in my spot but the staff was very helpful in assisting me. Most of the RV are permanent residents and really nice folks. The wash room and showers were really clean. You are near a recycling plant, so there is some noise and intense smells at times. But its the best deal in town for sure. Would never stay here again. Got the last site in what seems to be mostly fulltime campers. Odd set up and needed extension and level blocks.
Didn't feel safe because of unsavory characters and the neighborhood wasn't the nicest. Showers cost. Not good value for money at all. Manager was abrupt and rude. No amenities for the high charge. Don't bother coming here unless you're desperate. This park would rate much higher if it weren't for the noise at night. Starting about 3 AM the recycle trucks arrived and dumped their loads.
Now, if you sleep like my wife, or wear a hearing aid, I can highly recommend the park. Showers were older, but spotless, including shower curtains. The rest of the bathroom was extremely clean. The manager was kind and made sure we had good instructions when calling in for reservations. Unlike a previous poster, we did not experience a smelly environment from the recycle center. This park is pretty with only a couple of trailers left, full of motorhomes and fifth wheels.
They have very specific parking rules which required us to park our dually next to a bush, that scratched it. Nice but cramped laundry. No breaker to turn off electric so must hot connect. Sewer is not a proper fit so it leaks. No recycling available. Very expensive, not near groceries or shopping. In industrial area of town surrounded by poor neighborhoods.
WiFi virtually non-existent, no cable and no antenna stations available. Sites and streets are paved with many many very high speed bumps. No discounts. This RV park in silicon valley is clean! Pool and gazebo surrounded by green grass. Postal service is evidenced by a row of mailboxes at main office. There is an electric lawn mower to borrow to keep up your very own 10'x 5' strip of green space should you reside here for over 2 weeks.
It offers spaces to one-night travelers too. This is a nice, clean, groomed trailer park where you want to live while earning a living here in San Jose. I didn't want to leave.

As much as we all hate to admit it, most of us have had some sort of awkward hookup encounter at some point in our college career. Both our roommates were in our rooms and didn't want to leave. We were very desperate and ended up getting it on in the basement of my dorm.
